Natalie Portman Denies Romance with Sean Penn

E! Online reports that for several months rumors have been circulating that her and 48 year-old Penn are an item.

On Friday, Portman released a statement to the TV show Extra, which stated that the rumors are "completely untrue" and that Penn is only "a friend and colleague."

US Weekly reported that a tabloid, Star Magazine, claimed that in March, barely two weeks after filing legal separation from his wife of 13 years, 43 year-old actress Robin Wright Penn, the allege "couple" was spotted together "making out" at West Hollywood's Sunset Tower Hotel.

Both Penn and Portman had once served on the jury of the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.

She added, "I normally do not respond to rumors about my private life, however, this repeatedly fabricated story has forced me to do so."
