Nate Dogg's medical expenses loom over record label owner

Rapper Nate Dogg's unpaid medical expenses are now the responsibility of record label owner David Michery.

After suffering a massive stroke in 2008, Nate Dogg had to live in a medical facility until 2010 to receive treatment. In doing so, he racked up a $300,000 worth of medical bills. Back in 2008, Michery vouched to cover the bill because no one else would pitch in to help cover the costs.

After Nate Dogg's medical facility sued his estate and David Michery for his debt, a judge has called on Michery to live up to his promise after ruling in favor of the facility. Michery, a former business associate of Nate Dogg's, intends to help pay for the fees by selling some of Nate Dogg's new tracks that he claims to have.

What disappoints Michery the most is the unwillingness of Nate Dogg's other friends to support the struggling rapper in his time of need.

"I was the only person who would come forward because I didn’t want him to die. Me and Nate have 20 years history together and I did what everyone should have done and tried to save his life … not let him get kicked out in the streets and die,” Michery explained.

Michery was under the impression that treatment was "imperative" for his longtime friend and was more than willing to put forth a monetary sacrifice to help save his friend's life.

The same cannot be said for Nate Dogg's other "so-called rapper friends."

Nate Dogg, whose real name is Nathaniel Hale, passed away this past March after complications with numerous strokes.
