NBC Adds Changes to Fall Line-Up

NBC is in for some changes after an actress becomes ill.

The new fall line-up of shows is already changing reports NBC. Its new series Parenthood is on hiatus because one of its stars is ill, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Maura Tierney has a medical issue that must be attended to, and the actress declined to further comment on what her illness was. Tierney was expected to play a woman with financial problems who returns home to live with her parents, reports the New York Times.

Parenthood is based on the 1989 film that has the same name. The show is about the reunion of a multigenerational family in California. The series will be on hiatus until early 2010, reports the New York Times.

In the meantime, the Hollywood Reporter is saying that the show Mercy will take its place. The medical drama's cast has been called in early to get the first episode ready for September.
