After a disappointing slew of ratings NBC might decide to shut down production on "Prime Suspect."

Yahoo News stated the series will wrap up after its initial 13-episode run, and after that possible options will be considered.

"The series starring Maria Bello as NYPD detective Jane Timoney premiered on September 22 with a disappointing 1.8 rating/5 share in the advertiser-friendly adults 18-49 demographic, a record low for a Thursday fall premiere for the network, and failed to improve from there." reported Tim Kenneally.

Monday Nov. 14, NBC released a midseason schedule that failed to include Prime Suspect and Community, clarifying all rumors to the show's few fans.

According to AOL TV the show based on the remake of the UK series starring Helen Mirren, will shoot episodes 12 and 13 before ceasing production, and adds that NBC has not officially cancelled the low-rated series, but it's pretty much only a matter of time.
