NBC Gives Full-Season to "Kath and Kim"
NBC has granted a full season to freshman comedy Kath & Kim, a move that was somewhat expected when Knight Rider was picked up, despite poor ratings.
The nine-episode order was also expected because of the performance of the show. Kath & Kim did very well this past Thursday night, when it retained all of the viewers 18-49 brought in by My Name Is Earl.
This past Thursday night, Kath & Kim, which stars Molly Shannon and Selma Blair, drew 5.5 million viewers from ages 18-49.
Overall, it has averaged 6.0 million viewers over its first four episodes.
"'Kath & Kim' is a show we love and believe in," NBC's Exec. VP Teri Weinberg said. "We have incredible confidence in the creative auspices of this show and we believe it's a perfect fit with our Thursday-night comedies."
