Last week, it looked like NBC was ready to air Monday night’s Fear Factor unedited, complete with a stunt where two teams of bikini-clad twins have to drink a glass of donkey semen and urine in order to win $50,000. However, it is now being reported that NBC is dropping the episode all together, airing a repeat from earlier in the month instead.
TMZ first reported that NBC and the hit reality show’s producers had a fight about the stunt, but eventually caved in to the producers, giving them the go-ahead. In the episode, the teams were shown actually drinking the semen, which was followed by a glass of urine they were also required to drink. The Donkey and Mule Society later issued a statement to TMZ denouncing the stunt.
TMZ first reported early Monday that the episode, which was titled “Hee Haw! Hee Haw!,” has now been completely pulled off of NBC’s schedule. The site checked channel guides for New York and Los Angeles, noting that the episode was removed.
TMZ’s report was confirmed by NBC’s schedule, which now shows that the network will air a repeat of an episode called “Snake Bite,” which first aired earlier in the month.
The New York Daily News reports that NBC is going out of its way to make it appear as if the show never existed, even taking previews of the episode off the Internet.
Host Joe Rogan had actually teased that NBC might have a problem with the show’s most disgusting stunt. “They’re not even sure if they’re going to air it. It’s so over the top and ridiculous...When they told me, I really though they were joking at first. I don’t know where the debate is, but NBC is not sure if they’re going to air it,” Rogan told Entertainment Weekly last month, according to the Daily News.
