Neil Gaiman and Penn Jillette to collaborate on "Road to Endor"
Yeah, if most people heard the title, they would assume Lucas is allowing the Ewoks to have their own movie again, and it would be safe to assume he has finally lost his mind. But instead, this movie has nothing to do with "Star Wars" and actually is about a couple of World War I prisoners in a Turkish prison. The Endor referenced in the title refers to an old Hebrew text, rather than the fictional planet. They attempt to trick their guards with magic tricks to make them think the pair of prisoners they captured are actually prophets in touch with the spirit world.
With Penn Jillette's background in magic, and Neil Gaiman's background in just general darkness and creepiness, this film is going to be extremely engaging. Gaiman said, in a recent interview on FirstShowing.net, that he wants to do this movie precisely because it's an adaptation of another author's book, E. H. Jones, and not one of his own. "Then I can do the horrible violence to [the story] you might have to do, that I wouldn't dare do to mine."
