Neil Patrick Harris hosts Emmys

Famed stage and screen actor hosts for the second time.

After garnering much praise for appearing as the host of last month's Tony Awards, actor Neil Patrick Harris has been asked to host the Emmy Awards on September 20, according to Entertainment Weekly. Harris stated on Monday that he was thrilled to be chosen for the prestigious standing and joked that he wasn't sure what kind of vocal style to ham with on the night of the show, claiming that he'd like to choose between foppish Brit, gangsta, and robot.

Nina Tassler, the president of CBS who airs the show, says that Harris has major credibility as host by being both a film and stage actor, and has "great instincts" when handling live television. Harris is currently the star of sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" and became famous with his role in "Doogie Howser M.D." The Emmys will air at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
