Nelly Working On Forming A Super Group With T-Pain, Pharrell and Akon
Nelly is once again talking about forming a rap supergroup.
The first time it revolved around himself and T.I.
But now, since Tip is going to jail and hangs out with the likes of Jay-Z, Kanye West and Lil' Wayne, Nelly is considering three others to join his supergroup.
"Me, Akon, T-Pain and Pharrell are talking about doing a project," he told us Friday. "We got a host of things we're trying to do - possibly put together this new 2009 [Bell Biv DeVoe] type of thing."
Nelly isn't worried about schedules, labels or anything like that.
"I don't think you try to put things together with people you don't think you can accomplish [them] with," he said. "With 'Kon, with Pain and Pharrell, I know it's more about the music than anything. It's about leaving something. I think we're all OK as far as the money thing goes. I don't think anybody is hurting. You wanna do things you can be remembered by. Make a mark. I think that's something that's foremost on all our minds."
While Nelly has this in mind, Pharrell seems to have other thoughts.
"Those are all my boys," Pharrell said with a surprised look (after a long pause) Saturday afternoon. "I'm kinda like the only one that adheres to the oath of secrecy. I don't wanna break that."
No release date has obviously been set, but expect something on this front soon.
