Neverland Ranch to Become a Las Vegas Attraction
It looks like Michael Jackson's beloved Neverland Ranch is due to be the next Graceland, complete with gaping tourists. According to E! News, the current owner of Neverland Ranch is drawing up plans to dismantle the ranch and move it from Santa Barbara to Las Vegas to become a tourist attraction a la Graceland.
Colony Capital, the company who bought the loan to the property last year, wants to transfer the main house and several other structures to a plot of land near the Las Vegas strip. The plan also includes a museum, movie theater, and - if the family approves - the burial plot for Jackson's body where fans could come and pay their respects.
"The idea is to take physically everything that's not part of the dirt and reassemble it in Las Vegas," sources said. The cost would be gargantuan, anywhere around tens of millions of dollars. It would also need the approval of Neverland estate executors John McClain and John Branca.
So far, everything is still in the preliminary drawing stages but the Jackson estate is reportedly very interested in the idea. To be continued.
