New ABC Hit "Flash Forward"
ABC has picked up the new sci-fi drama starring Joseph Fiennes, Flash Forward. Based on a novel by Robert J. Sawyer, this series will feature the aftereffects of a global event where everyone in the world goes unconscious for 2 minutes, 17 seconds and gets glimpses into the future.
According to the New York Times, 13 episodes are expected to launch the series this fall. Alongside Fiennes, the cast will include Sonya Walger, John Cho, Jack Davenport, Christine Woods, Zachary Knighton, Peyton List, Courtney B. Vance, and Brian F. O'Byrne.
David Goyer and Brannon Braga co-wrote the pilot and, while the two plan to executive produce the series, Braga won't be committed to Flash full-time, reported THR.com. Jessica Goyer, Vince Gerardis and Ralph Vicinanza also join the team for executive production.
According to Reuters, Flash was originally created at HBO, but landed at ABC after an intense bidding with Fox. The series has been considered alongside the drama Lost, also an ABC hit.
