Sarah Jessica Parker is best known as her character, Carrie Bradshaw, in the series and movies, Sex and the City.
Candance Bushnell, author of Sex and the City, has recently released The Carrie Diaries, which follows Carrie as a teenager. There has been talk that the book series will be turned into a larger project.
As the second Sex and the City movie is about to be released May 27, Jessica Parker is being asked about who she would pick to play a younger Carrie in The Carrie Diaries. However, adaptation plans for the book into a series or film is a ways off.
The actress mentioned that she would want to be generous and hand over her role to another girl, but she just doesn't feel like it would be the same Carrie. Jessica Parker revealed to MTV News: “It’s just, I don’t know. I can’t imagine anyone else playing Dorothy Gale — just Judy Garland."
Jessica Parker was not entirely comfortable upon hearing that a different actress would take over, although she understands that it makes sense. After years of playing the iconic character, Jessica Parker feels protective over the role. The Sex and the City star added that she would be graceful to whoever does end up getting the role.
