New BCS rankings revealed; TCU #4
TCU has moved to 4th in the current BCS rankings, the highest ranking for a non-BCS school ever.
The highest a non-BCS school ever reached in the BCS prior to this week was 6th. The Horned Frogs moved up two spots, benefiting from Iowa's loss to Indiana.
BCS experts are still somewhat skeptical of TCU's chances to break into the championship game. Even if they win out, TCU may be passed by an undefeated Cincinnati team or a one loss team from another conference.
Cincinnati only trails the Horned Frogs by .41 of a point. The Bearcats stronger conference schedule may vault them past TCU by the end of the season.
Florida remains number one for the 4th straight week, followed by Alabama and Texas. Both the Gators have clinched their respective division in the SEC, guaranteeing themselves a spot in the SEC Championship game December 5.
Assuming both can get through the next month unscathed, the winner of that game will appear in the National Championship game on Janurary 7 in Pasadena, Calif.
They will play Texas as long as the Longhorns can win their remaining games, all of which are against unranked opponents.
