New Coldplay Album by December, Says Chris Martin

Well, that was quick.

Last week, Coldplay's Chris Martin confirmed the swirling rumors that said that his band would release a new album before the year ended.

Martin did so while speaking with BBC 6 Music radio show with host Steve Lamacq and REM's Michael Stipe. Martin said that Coldplay will release their second EP of the year in Decemeber. The album will contain a great deal of the left over music sessions with Brian Eno, who produced the band's Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends album released in June.

According to Rolling Stone, the new album will be called either Prospects March or Prospects Song, or "something like that," Martin says.

The album will reportedly be out on December 26, and one of the new songs will be "Luna," which is a collaboration Coldplay did with Australian-born singer Kylie Minogue.

Martin also said that Coldplay is eager to get back to recording, meaning they are aiming for an additional album, with all new recorded songs, to be released before the end of 2009.

Stay tuned on that front, but in the meantime, feel free to rejoice from the glut of Coldplay music that's set to hit the airwaves soon.
