New Details Surface in N.J. Threesome Scandal
Former New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevey's estranged wife, Dina Matos McGreevey, denies the allegation that the couple engaged in threesomes with a male aide.
This comes Wednesday, two days following McGreevey sending a confirmation to the Associated Press confirming the published reports by former campaign aide Teddy Pedersen. In the reports, Pedersen said he had consensual sex with the couple for about two years before McGreevey's election into the governorship.
McGreevey said the encounters occurred, but added that he and his wife need to move on for their 6-year-old daughter.
The McGreeveys are involved in a spiteful divorce. Matos McGreevey accuses the former Governor of hiding his homosexuality before and during their marriage and has sued for damages. He said that his wife should have known he was gay before marrying him.
Pedersen said he came forward because Matos McGreevey was giving television commentary - where she said she was shocked by her husband's announcement of his homosexuality - on the resignation of former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer last week.
McGreevey resigned in disgrace in 2004 after having an affair with a male staffer, and then blackmailing him. The ex-staff member said that he was sexually harassed by the former Governor.
