New Fabolous Album Tops Billboard Chart
Rapper Fabolous's latest, "Loso's Way," snagged the number one selling spot on the Billboard Top 200 chart this week, reported MTV.com. The new album debuted with sales approaching 99,000 copies. Though his previous effort, "From Nothin' to Somethin'," premiered with first week sales numbering 159,000, "Way" represents the rapper's first number one debut, reported Rolling Stone.
However, late pop star Michael Jackson still dominated the sales race, with his "Number Ones" collection moving 114,000 units to finish atop the Comprehensive Albums category (Jackson's releases are disqualified from the Top 200 due to age). Rolling Stone reported "Number Ones" was the only record to sell in excess of 100,000 copies this week. "Ones" has sold 1.37 million copies in 2009, making it the top-selling album of the year behind Taylor Swift's "Fearless," which has moved 1.5 million units, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Meanwhile, Daughtry's "Leave This Town" maintained its number two spot for the second week in a row, reported Rolling Stone. Maxwell's "BLACKsummers'night," the "Now 31" compilation album and the Black Eyed Peas' "The E.N.D." rounded out the top 5 on the Billboard chart this week.
