New Game Company Will Focus on Film Licenses

Group of video game and film industry executives plans to create games based on films.

Brash Entertainment, a new company formed by a group of video game and film industry executives, will focus on producing games based on film licenses.

The company, headed by Mitch Davis, announced that one of its first projects will be a game based on Lions Gate Entertainment Corp.'s Saw horror series. Other projects will be based on upcoming animated and action movies.

Davis previously ran an in-game advertising company called Massive Inc., which was sold to Microsoft Corp. last year in an estimated deal of $200 million.

The new company will have backings of $400 million from investors led by private equity firm ABRY Partners. Other investors include New York Life Capital Partners III, Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance and PPM America Private Equity Fund II.
