New James Bond movie will possibly be titled ‘Skyfall’

Sony hasn't confirmed it, but 15 domain names have been registered with the title

While the next James Bond film is still officially titled Bond 23, rumors are floating that the film’s actual title may end up being Skyfall.

The rumor started when Fusible reported that Sony Pictures and MGM bought 15 domain names for sites through MarkMoniter, a company that Sony has used in the past to register domain names. The addresses for the sites include JamesBond-Skyfall.com and Skyfallthefilm.com.

The film, which will star Daniel Craig as Bond for a third time, has been scheduled for release on Oct. 26, 2012 in the UK and Nov. 9, 2012 in the U.S., so a confirmation from Sony cannot be that far off. NME is even reporting that pop star Adele has written the theme song, but there has been no official announcement from her camp.

Most of the film is still under wraps. Access Hollywood reports that the synopsis of the film is still a mystery, as is most of the cast. While we know that Judi Dench will return as M alongside Craig, Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes have only been mentioned as co-stars. French actress Bérénice Marlohe is expected to be cast as the film’s Bond girl. Sam Mendes is signed on to direct.
