New Kids on the Block Making a Comeback

The New Kids on the Block are to make a comeback here in the states with a single that's already been released and a new CD.

The New Kids on the Block are coming back. They made their appearance on NBC's Today show where fans yelled out the names of their favorites, according to Reuters. They're going for a come back and the concert on the NBC's morning show had fans piling up outside the studio more than two days beforehand, even with the rain pouring.

The wet stage was taken by the boys-turned-men in front of a crowd of several thousands with women in their 20s and 30s who cried and held onto their dolls of the man band, reported Reuters. "The Today show turned out to be a 90-minute infomercial for the band," Jared Paul of AGP and the manager of the New Kids, told Reuters.

The boys who took over the charts in the late '80s and early '90s are making a huge connection with their fans of old and their new fans as well, even though their single, "Summertime," started out at No. 57 and slid to No. 83 the next week, reported Reuters. Their comeback was mainly based on the timing. Jordan Knight of the band, said to Reuters, "We are finally in a place where we could create the space in our lives to make music and go back on the road."

Joey McIntyre said that Donnie Wahlberg was the driving force in getting the band back together. He told Reuters, "Donnie got us all together to work on a song called 'Click Click Click' and something, well, clicked. We all got really excited." Their upcoming album is due to come out September 8. They plan to launch a North American tour on September 18 in Toronto and their beginning dates are already sold out, according to Live Nation senior VP of touring, Brad Wavra.
