New Line Buys Rights for Gears of War

New Line Cinema will bring the popular video game to the big screen.

According to Variety, an entertainment news industry, the rights to produce a film based on the popular video game, Gears of War, has been auctioned off to New Line Cinema.

Stuart Beattie, who has been known for his contributing writing talents for Pirates of the Caribbean, Collateral, and several others films, wrote the script. Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey are sharing the role for producing the anticipated blockbuster.

However, other than that, further details about the film, such as who will be directing, when the movie will begin filming, and who will be cast for the leading roles, are yet to be determined.

Now, will this movie ever be produced? Who knows? But with New Line Cinema that has already given viewers top notch movie classics, such as Nightmare on Elm Street, Blade, and Lord of the Rings, if anyone's up for the challenge, it's certainly them.
