New Moon's Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart Go Behind-the-Scenes

The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly explores the budding friendship and work of "New Moon" stars Lautner and Stewart.

Taylor Lautner is claiming the title of "Twilight" stud.

After gaining 30 pounds for the role, the buff Lautner, 17, is a strong contender for the hearts of "Twilight" fans. It is quite an accomplishment for Lautner, considering that he had to launch a campaign to keep the role of Jacob Black.

But co-star Kristen Stewart, 19, knew that Lautner was the perfect choice for the role. "He was so young, 16, so I got it. But I knew he had [to do] it. Just because of how I felt around him. I literally saw Jacob in him," the actress tells Entertainment Weekly.

Entertainment Weekly's latest issue, featuring a cover shoot with Lautner and Stewart, goes behind-the-scenes of "New Moon" and uncovers the drama.

On-screen, Bella's heart is broken when Edward leaves Forks, and off-screen, there have been directing and casting replacements. Chris Weitz replaced Catherine Hardwicke as director of the latest film, and Bryce Dallas Howard is set to replace Rachelle Lefevre as the vampire, Victoria, in the third film, "Eclipse."

Unlike the first installment of the "Twilight" series, "New Moon" is filled with very little screen time of swoon-worthy Edward Cullen. However, Robert Pattinson, 23, is content with sharing the spotlight with Lautner. He reveals to Entertainment Weekly, "It was a stress-free job for three months."
