New Policy for Letterman Interns
Quinipiac University in Connecticut has instituted a new policy for its students who want to intern at "The Late Show with David Letterman".
"Due to recent circumstances we will have a discussion with those in charge of placing our interns at the David Letterman show in the future. We will diligently oversee this internship program to ensure that our interns are out of harm's way," said university officials in a statement made to TMZ.com.
The university's change in sentiment came after the late-night host was involved in a blackmail scandal and forced to admit to having an affair with employees of his show.
The school later modified its stance against Letterman. "Those comments were made by an individual faculty member who has absolutely no authority to speak to the media on behalf of the university," said Lynn Bushnell, vice president for public affairs, to the Daily News. Letterman has not commented yet on Quinipiac University's new guidelines.
