Newest Addition to "Terminator" Series Underway

First "Terminator" film sans Schwarzenegger begins filming.

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, the fourth installment for the Terminator movie franchise, has started filming in New Mexico, Crave Online reports.

The film stars Christian Bale and is also noteworthy as the first of the series to lack Arnold Schwarzenegger as a member of the cast. It is set in the year 2018 and Bale's starring role as John Connor features tons of action . . . as predicted.

Sam Worthington costars as Marcus Wright, a man of mystery who was mistakenly unmentioned in the prophecy that Connor has known his entire life. Wright lacks sure memories of where he comes from. His most recent recollection is being on death row, which is not all that reassuring for Connor, who must determine whether Wright is from his past or future. And once that is all figured out, he must then grapple with the more important question: Why has he come into his life to begin with?

If this wasn't enough to deal with, soon Wright and Connor team up and unlock a horrible secret behind the possible extermination of all mankind. Identity crisis suddenly doesn't seem so important.

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins also stars Anton Yelchin, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Moon Bloodgood.

While the film may be just one of many in the Terminator series, it will be the first of a new trilogy of movies for the franchise. It is set for a May 22, 2009 release and hopes to rake in more money for the multi million dollar Terminator saga.
