Mariah Carey celebrated her first Mother’s Day just eight days after the birth of her twins.
Mariah and husband Nick Cannon were blessed with twins, Moroccan and Monroe, on April 30. Cannon helped to create a 4-carat diamond and sapphire necklace especially for Mariah, with the help of Jason of Beverly Hills.
Jason Arasheben says, “Nick was really excited about the babies’ names and wanted to do a piece with them for Mariah’s first Mother’s Day. Pink sapphires are bright and bold and diamonds are always so classic.”
The necklace is priced at $12,000 and can be seen at People.com.
A source tells People that Nick “came in the Friday after the twins were born” to begin the planning for this spectacular Mother’s Day gift. And that’s not all Cannon has been doing. The new father has also been teaming up with Feeding America to help stomp out hunger.
Cannon remembers back to his childhood, scrounging for food such as starch “just to feel full,” he tells USA Today. Nick states that he wants to give his children the childhood that he never had.
