Nick moves past the "Newlyweds" era

Nick Lachey promotes his new album on the "Today" show and comments on life post-Jessica.

In front of hordes of screaming female fans, Nick Lachey belted out tracks from his latest album Monday morning on the "Today" show and spoke about moving on from his highly publicized marriage to Jessica Simpson.

Lachey performed songs from "What's Left of Me," his second solo album which debuted this spring. He sang the title track while walking into the crowd of fans, some holding signs such as "Nick, we want what's left of you."

After being asked about the finalization of his divorce and the end of the high public profile he experienced as a result of the marriage, Lachey responded, "I'm doing well. It's a process we all have to go through. This week was the final step in that process."

"It's a huge part of my life," Lachey said. "But for me, personally and professionally, it's time to move on."

Lachey will cap off the 4th of July performing at the Macy's Fireworks Spectacular in New York.
