Nickelback to Tour in 2009

Band plans outing to support new album.

Nickelback will be hitting the road in February to support their new album, Dark Horse, LiveDaily reports.

The tour will start in Nashville on Feb. 25, and will continue through the spring. This is the first tour the band will be headlining under their new deal with concert giant Live Nation (who also scored huge deals with Madonna and U2). The band will hit cities in the U.S. and Canada.

Dark Horse was released last week and made its debut on the Billboard 200 at No. 2. It's the sixth studio album from the band, and is a follow-up to 2005's hit record, All the Right Reasons. That album went No. 1 and has since sold over 11 million copies.

Tickets will be on sale to the public on Dec. 5, while fan club members can get theirs during a presale on Friday (11/28). Also Citi credit card holders will have their own presale on Dec. 1.

Seether and Saving Abel will open for the band on the tour.
