Nicolas Cage Wins Defamation Lawsuit

Hollywood star Cage's lawsuit against Kathleen Turner has reached a conclusion in his favor.

As stated by UK.rottentomatoes.com the lawsuit filed by Nicolas Cage over accusations made by Kathleen Turner in her recent chronicle has reached its conclusion.

Cage was pursuing claims of defamation, libel, and slander against Turner, The Daily Mail, and Headline Publishing Group, the British publisher of Turner's book, Send Yourself Roses: My Life, Love and Leading Roles.

At issue were numerous factors mentioned by Turner regarding Cage, including claims that the actor was a dog thief who picked up two DUIs while filming.

Cage's lawyer appeared in London's High Court "to announce that both publishing groups had acknowledged Turner's claims to be untrue," according to E! Online.

Headline Publishing will insert an apology in following editions of Turner's book. The Daily Mail, that printed outtakes from Turner's book under the headline "Why I Detest Burt Reynolds and Nicolas Cage," has agreed to publish an apology and remove the article from its website.

A generous donation will also be made by Turner to a U.S.-based charity that benefits vulnerable adults, the National Adult Protective Services Foundation. Furthermore, she will also cover Cage's legal fees.
