Nicole Kidman to Sponsor Tropfest NY

Nicole Kidman may be spending all of her time toting her daughter, Sunday Rose, to movie sets in Sydney and shopping trips in London, but the new mom still finds time to give back.

According to People magazine, Kidman will be sponsoring awards for best male and best female actor at Tropfest NY, an event to honor those involved with short filmmaking.

"I went to her a week or two ago, saying we were doing the festival here, and I wanted to give the best actor and actress a great prize and how did she feel about it. She generously decided to help out," said festival founder and director John Polson.

Kidman's awards will be handed down at the World Financial Center Plaza in Lower Manhattan on Sept. 26.

Polson is still confirming whether Kidman will be there to present the awards.
