Nicole Richie Stars in Sitcom

Nicole Richie, 28, is said to be developing a sitcom for ABC that she will both star in and produce. Richie is getting some well-versed people from other TV shows to help her out, including Daisy Gardner ("Californication") to write it, and Warren Bell ("According To Jim") to be the executive producer.

Richie says the story is about a professional woman who must balance her business and her family relationships. On her website she says "she must deal with, and navigate the many ideas of what a woman's role is: modern vs. traditional."

Richie will base some of the plot of her show off of what she sees in her life, being a mother of two. She will also take ideas from the women of different ages that she has been surrounded by as of late. The production of the show is still in its earliest stages but Richie says that it will be a special and funny show.

Besides the new sitcom, Richie is also working on her second novel, and unveiling her clothing and shoe labels.
