Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder reveal what they love about each other

The Vampire Diaries co-stars Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder kept their relationship under the radar for awhile before stepping out together for the first time at the MuchMusic Video Awards in June.

Now that they are no longer hiding their real relationship, they reveal to Us Weekly what they love about each other.

Somerhalder, 32, says her desire to laugh, appreciate and enjoy life is only half the reason he loves Dobrev, 22.

"She truly enjoys life," he gushed. "Her desire to experience and appreciate everything around her, and chuckle and enjoy it, is great."

He says he also loves her because she knows him so well.

"When you're really close to someone, they can make fun of you a lot and get away with it," he said. "But they sort of poke you in all of the places -- it all makes sense because they know you so well and it really pisses you off, but it forces you to sort of be introspective and ask yourself, 'Wow, is that really how people see me?' Apparently so!"

Somerhalder loves Nina’s outlook on life and her ability to poke him in “all of the places,” so what does Dobrev love about Somerhalder?

"He always has a positive outlook and positive energy, and he's always happy," she told the magazine. "He is a glass-half-full kind of guy, not half-empty."
