No Big Wedding for Mariah

Mimi and her young man hoped to celebrate their newlywed bliss with a ceremony costing millions, but it seemed the couple were the only ones excited about it.

Singer Mariah Carey shocked the world with a surprise wedding to comedian Nick Cannon earlier this year. The woman who gives new meaning to the word "diva," with her customary extravagance, had planned to have a wedding ceremony costing millions of dollars for a few hundred of the couple's friends. Cannon and Carey called the whole thing off because they disagreed on how to pay for it, according to MSNBC.com. Carey wanted to sell the photos for all they were worth, but no one was biting.

Carey was just not satisfied with the intimate nuptials in the Bahamas that cemented the May-December relationship. A source close to Carey said she wanted her big party in New York City, but selling the pictures were the only way to address the enormous price tag. It looks like if Mariah wants her big day to be splashed all across the tabloids, she'll need to marry another young whippersnapper, this time one with more buzz to his name.
