No Doubt: Tyler Perry's "Madea Goes to Jail" Is Top

It has been confirmed that Tyler Perry's latest flick, Madea Goes to Jail, is this week's runaway box office hit.

As reported by EW.com, the filmmaker's latest premiering dramedy topped all weekend performances and grossed an estimated over $40 million in profits.

Madea Goes to Jail is the latest installment in Perry's "Madea" series following the initial success of 2006's Madea's Family Reunion release. Following Madea Goes to Jail, are Taken and Coraline, which complete this week's top three releases.

The entertainment mogul, Perry, besides honing a lucrative career as a director, hopes to develop expansively this year in other media interests.
