Looks like doggie heaven got a new member last night. Gidget, the famous Chihuahua from the Taco Bell commercials, died Tuesday night from a stroke at age 15.A small dog weighing only 12 pounds, Gidget delighted people in the late '90s along with the popular phrase "Yo Quiero Taco Bell" in TV commercials and print ads.Karin McElhatton, the dog's owner, told ABCNews.com that it has been hard losing Gidget and that she was a great dog.In addition to her role in Taco Bell ads, Gidget also appeared in a commercial for the '90s edition of Trivial Pursuit and in the movie "Legally Blonde 2" as Bruiser's mother. Sue Chipperton, Gidget's trainer, told PeoplePets.com in February that the canine came alive when she was on a set. She also said that one time the dog pushed her stand-in away after she came on the set and found him in her spot. The Los Angles Times reported that Gidget was sleeping quite a bit in her old age, sometimes for 23 hours, 45 minutes a day, Chipperton told PeoplePets.com.
