Nobel Peace Prize Concert to Be Headlined by Diana Ross

The singer will perform at this year's concert honoring Martti Ahtisaari.

The two Hollywood stars that will host this year's Nobel Peace Prize show may not be announced till next week, but the performers for the concert have been named.

Organizers said Thursday that headlining the Dec. 11 event will be artist Diana Ross, reports the Associated Press.

In a true show of unity, it is reported that joining Ross will be an international lineup of artists.

Country star Dierks Bentley, singer Feist from Canada, songwriter Julieta Venegas from Mexico, popular star Seun Kuti from Nigeria, and singer-songwriter Marit Larsen from Norway are all scheduled to perform.

Nonvoting secretary of the Norwegian Nobel committee Geir Lundestad is excited about this year's performers.

"The Nobel Committee is thrilled to welcome such an impressive array of mindful and talented artists to help us spread the message of peace around the world," she said.

Lundestad continued, "It promises to be a spectacular evening and we encourage everyone to tune in and join us."

The concert will be held after the Nobel awards ceremony, broadcast Dec 10, that will be honoring its recipient, Finnish peace mediator Martti Ahtisaari, for his several decades of peace efforts that span over multiple continents.
