Noel Gallagher to "Write Sitcoms with Russell Brand"

Gallagher, as most Americans don't know, worked on UK series "The Royle Family," albeit within his realm.

Oasis musician Noel Gallagher, the same member of the band who dissed Jay-Z over the summer (we say over the summer because it's now officially fall; weep), is planning on writing TV sitcoms in the near future.

Gallagher, whose band's song, "Half the World Away," was the theme on The Royle Family, recently said that he wanted to write TV sitcom scripts with Russell Brand (who was controversial as the host at the most recent VMAs). This is according to the reports in the Sun.

"I'd like to be part of a team of scriptwriters," the guitarist explained. "I think I'd be good. Russell has been trying to rope me into something, but at the moment I can't commit to anything outside Oasis. But one day. Who knows?"

Gallagher went on to say that he is friends with the comedian, who worked for MTV in the UK until Sept. 12, 2001 when he dressed up as Osama Bin Laden the day after the 9/11 attacks (if you don't believe me, feel free to check out his interview in Rolling Stone).

"Russell's a big posh Essex boy former-junkie who's been to the dark side and found Hare Krishna. He's never seen a council estate," joked Gallagher. "I'm a gruff northerner who drinks Red Stripe. He finds that fascinating."
