According to the Christian Science Monitor, President Obama’s viewer challenge was busted on Mythbusters last night.
Obama challenged the Mythbuster hosts, Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage, to explore the ancient legend of Archimedes.
According to the myth, the Greek scientist used giant mirrors to reflect sunlight at attacking Roman ships around 212 B.C., setting them ablaze.
Obama suggested that the hosts should utilize hundreds of mirrors held by hundreds of San Francisco students. The target was a mock trireme -- a ship’s sail.
Although the experiment failed, the students received free t-shirts, and Jamie and Adam had the chance to report back to the President at the White House library.
