Obama Says More Campaigning, Less Debates

Barack Obama suggested that he would like to focus more on campaigning and less on debates.

According to CNN, Senator Barack Obama hinted Thursday that he does not see the point of having any more debates with his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton.

"I'll be honest with you, we've now had 21," Obama said. "It's not as if we don't know how to do these things. I could deliver Senator Clinton's lines; she could, I'm sure, deliver mine."

Hillary Clinton has agreed to another debate next week, but Obama has not yet accepted the invitation, according to CNN. Obama notes that he had agreed to an earlier debate, which Clinton had declined.

Obama said he has to consider the upcoming primaries in which he has to do a lot of campaigning in very little time. The Illinois senator kicks off a four day tour in Pennsylvania, leading up to the state's primary on Tuesday, where 158 delegates are at stake.

Clinton's lead over Obama has drastically narrowed over the past few weeks; however, she is still in the lead by 5 percentage points according to several surveys.
