Obama Selects First Dog Finalists

The Obama family will make the final cut this month as they decide between a labradoodle or a Portugese water hound to become America's First Dog.

And you thought picking a secretary of treasury was hard.

Just 18 days shy of entering the White House, Barack, Michelle, Malia, and Sasha have come very close to finally selecting the First Dog.

The President-elect revealed to George Stephanopoulos on ABC's "This Week" that his family, "seem to have narrowed it down to a Labradoodle or a Portugese water hound." Daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, are said to be the most excited since their father promised a pet on the grounds that they permitted his running for presidency two years ago.

According to US Weekly, the winner of this dog race should be revealed by the end of the month as the Obamas are currently searching for the right breed in animal shelters in the surrounding Washington D.C. area.

Barack Obama will be sworn in as President of the United States January 20th.
