O'Brien Joked About Accident on "Tonight"

Conan O'Brien jokes about his recent accident on his "Tonight Show"

61st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards - Arrivals

Last Friday, Conan O'Brien took a fall as he raced his guest, Teri Hatcher, to the finish line. Instead of that episode being aired a rerun was put in its place.

During the Monday taping of his "Tonight Show" he replayed his backward fall on the hard studio floor and laughed at his own expense. The audience gasped in response to the clip of his fall.

"So tune in tomorrow when Eva Longoria pushes me down an elevator shaft," Conan also jokingly stated in regards to having a sequel with one of Hatcher's "Desperate Housewives" co-star.

O'Brien joked that his head was struck so hard "that for five seconds I actually understood the plot of 'Lost.'"

The "Tonight Show" host says after his fall he couldn't recall clearly what happened next as he walked toward his dressing room to change clothes.

When O'Brien returned to the stage to begin his interview with Seth MacFarlane, he looked at his cue cards and realized he didn't know what to do.

His producer called him off stage but he insisted on continuing the show. Later O'Brien was sent to the hospital where doctors performed a neurological evaluation.

In true O'Brien fashion when one of the neurological questions was "how many nickels in $1.35" O'Brien replied "I've never known that!"

Conan O'Brien took over as the "Tonight Show" host in June after 17 years of the show being hosted by Jay Leno.
