Octomom Getting Help from Angels In Waiting
According to the Los Angeles Times, Nadya Suleman has decided to accept some help from Angels In Waiting to help provide care for her octuplets.
Suleman had previously rejected an offer from the organization. However, while appearing on the Dr. Phil show, Suleman confirmed she had reversed her earlier position and accepted the offer.
A statement from the Dr. Phil show said, "[Angels In Waiting] initially will be providing around-the-clock services of skilled neonatal intensive care nurses who specialize in premature infant developmental care. Psychological and physical early therapies to help enhance all of the children's growth and well-being will also be provided."
Suleman gave birth to the octuplets in January, and was showered with favorable press. However, after certain details of her life came to light, public opinion began to turn more negative. Suleman, 33, lives with her parents, had six children previously, lives off food stamps, and is unemployed.
The octuplets are currently at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Bellflower, Calif. It is unknown when the babies will come home. Angels In Waiting has also agreed to help Suleman arrange her new house. Celebrity site TMZ.com reports that she is buying a house in La Habra, which is not far from her parents' house in Whittier, Calif.
The Dr. Phil statement went on to say that Angels In Waiting's "childcare will be completely transparent, so that Kaiser Permanente and Child Protective Services will see that Nadya is seriously committed to her family."
