Octomom Trying to Trademark Her New Moniker

Nadya Suleman has filed claims in an attempt to trademark the name, "Octomom."

According to TheSmokingGun.com, "Octomom," Nadya Suleman, 33, is attempting to trademark the nickname given to her by the tabloid media.

Suleman filed two applications for a trademark last Friday with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In the applications she referred to herself throughout as "Nadya Suleman aka Octomom."

Suleman wants to use the name to license clothing, including dresses, pants, shirts and disposable as well as fabric diapers. Suleman also is requesting a trademark on the name as it pertains to TV variety programming.

The fees associated with the applications came to a total cost of $825. The claims were filed for her by a Whittier, Calif. based law firm, whose Web page says they offer "Intellectual Property and Family Law services."
