Ohio Police Chief Sentenced In SPJ-Broderick Baby Scandal

An Ohio police chief was sentenced to prison for breaking into the home of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick's surrogate mother.

Barry Carpenter of the Martins Ferry Police was sentenced to two years and eight months. He was convicted in November of receiving stolen property, theft and tampering with evidence.

Bridgeport (Ohio) Police Chief Chad Dojack is scheduled to stand trial on similar charges next month. He allegedly assisted Carpenter break into the surrogate's home in May. When they tried to sell information to a tabloid, the magazine reported the two to authorities.

The anonymous surrogate gave birth to twins Marion and Tabitha.
