Ohio State Quarterback Leads Team to Victory

Saturday night, junior starter Todd Boeckman made his presence known to his team, as well as to all of State College, Pennsylvania.

On Saturday night, a crowd of 110,134, the second-largest in Beaver Stadium history, watched as the Ohio State University football team cruised to a 37-17 victory over Penn State. Todd Boeckman the junior quarterback was the acclaimed reason for the amazing win. "I think he threw with a lot of confidence tonight," Ohio State Coach Jim Tressel said of the first season starter. "You've got to be able to handle this environment. He did."

Last night, Boeckman completed 19 of 26 passes for 253 yards and 3 touchdowns. With the Buckeyes ahead by 17-7 in the third quarter, Boeckman led a 13-play, 87-yard drive that gave Ohio State a powerful lead. In fact, the Ohio State players were so good in their offense that they did not punt all night, and its defense kept Penn State's offense largely on the sidelines.
