Olivia Newton-John Sends Her Love to Grieving John Travolta
Olivia Newton-John offered consolation to her former Grease costar, John Travolta, over the loss of his 16-year-old son, Jett.
Usmagazine.com spoke to the actress last weekend at the 2009 Australia Week gala in Hollywood as she expressed her sympathies to the Travolta family.
"I extend my love to them, and I want to leave them in peace at this time," she said. "I think that John and Kelly [Preston] put out a most beautiful statement; I couldn't do any better than to send them my love."
The statement that the Travolta family released last week was in the form of a letter published in the local newspaper, thanking people from their Ocala, Fla. hometown for their support during an "impossibly painful situation."
The letter said, "In parting, we want all of you to cherish your loved ones and your friends like there was no tomorrow, to live your lives to the fullest by continuing to help one another, and to be true to yourselves."
Jett died Jan. 2 of a seizure disorder while vacationing in the Grand Bahamas with his family.
