Olympic gold-medalist Michael Phelps was involved in a car crash, Thursday night. Fortunately, Phelps and his passengers were unharmed.

At around 9 p.m., Phelps, who was driving an SUV, got into an accident with a Honda Accord at a Baltimore intersection.

The female driver of the Honda Accord was taken to the local hospital but did not seem to have significant injuries.

CNN reports that police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told reporters that the crash was under investigation. However, alcohol did not seem to be a large factor in the Phelps accident because it would have been obvious at the scene.

Guglielmi also revealed that Phelps was being interviewed but he would not release the location of the interview. At about 10:45 p.m., Phelps's interview was finished and he had been sent home, WBAL, a CNN affiliate, reports.

This is not the first time Phelps has had a brush with the law. In February, a picture of Phelps holding a bong surfaced resulting in his suspension from organized competitive swimming. Additionally, in 2004, Phelps was sentenced to 18 months probation after pleading guilty to driving while impaired.
