One Day At A Time Star Reveals Shocking Past

Mackenzie Phillips, former child star of the 1970's show "One Day At A Time", released a tell-all book about her incestuous relationship with her father.

In an interview with the TODAY show's Meredith Vieira, Phillips talked about her book "High On Arrival."

According to MSNBC she divulged that she and her father, "Papa John" of the folk group The Mamas and the Papas, maintained a "10 year affair."

Phillips said that the night before her wedding, her first marriage at the age of 18, she woke up to her father having his way with her. Some years later they had begun having consensual sex. Her husband at the time had no idea and when she became pregnant, not knowing whether the child was her father or her husbands, she ended things.

Phillips also admitted to spending most of her youth on a number of drugs and even appeared high on the TODAY show back in 2008.

The book has caused a mix reaction from her family. Stepmom Michelle Phillips called her a liar but her siblings have been supportive.
