Online plans for 'One Life To Live' and 'All My children' canceled

Plans to revive the cancelled soap operas One Life to Life and All My Children have been canceled.

The plans to bring back the beloved series were shelved due to the economics needed for such a venture. Prospect Park, the production company behind the plans to bring the shows online, was unable to make a deal after months trying to obtain financial backing. However, guild wages for an internet show are economically unfeasible since it would generate a fraction of the money the soaps did while on ABC.

“After five months of negotiations with various guilds, hundreds of presentations to potential financial and technology partners, and a hope that we could pioneer a new network for the future, it is with great disappointment that we are suspending our aspirations to revive One Life to Live and All My Children via online distribution,” Prospect Park said in a statement. “It is now becoming clear that mounting issues make our ability to meet our deadlines to get OLTL on the air in a reasonable time period following its Jan. 13, 2012 ABC finale impossible.”

The shows were replaced on ABC by the less expensive lifestyle shows The Chew and The Revolution.
