An Operatic Green Day
The popular punk group is in talks of turning their new album into a movie.
In 1975, The Who turned their 1969 rock opera about a deaf, dumb and blind kid named Tommy into a movie. Green Day's new album, American Idiot somewhat follows the format of the underrated rock opera genre and may be released as a feature fictional film.
"We've definitely been talking about it, and there are a few different names that have been thrown at us," front man Billie Joe Armstrong said.
In addition to the pending film, the group also considers a documentary about their latest album.
