Oprah Behing New Sexy HBO Series
The "Oprah Winfrey Show" may be on its way out, but Oprah isn't going anywhere. Her production company, Harpo Films, recently made a deal with HBO to work on a pilot for an hour-long series surrounding a seemingly normal mother in a seemingly happy marriage who leaves all that behind to pursue her fantasies. Sexual fantasies.
The pilot is being written by Erin Cressida Wilson ("Secretary") with Winfrey and Kate Forte, president of Harpo Films, producing. The idea behind the project was Forte's and, if I may say so myself, sounds pretty intriguing.
"It is unsentimental and pretty shocking, and there is something complicated and destructive driving her," Forte said according to Variety.com. "It is literally a day at the pool, where she gets up, in sarong and flip-flops, and walks out of her life, leaving everyone behind so abruptly that her husband and kids initially think she's been kidnapped or murdered."
Harpo Films had already made a deal for developing a television series for HBO, opening the door for this project to come to fruition. "Ida Tarbell," based on the true story of a journalist who exposed the corruption of John Rockefeller and his company, is one of the already confirmed miniseries.
