Oprah is Number One

In the annual Harris Poll, Oprah was voted America's favorite TV personality of 2009

In the annual Harris Poll, which surveys to find Americas favorite television personality, Oprah Winfrey regained her spot as number one in 2009 after slipping to fourth the year before, ABC reported.

Harris said that Winfrey more than likely reclaimed the top spot because of her announcement that she would be ending her talk show in 2011.

Winfrey was rated the best by woman over 33 years old, according to ABC.

Ellen DeGeneres tied for fourth place with Hugh Laurie in the poll, and was the only other female who ranked in the top ten. Not only does DeGeneres have her own talk show, but she will become a new judge on American Idol in February.

Glenn Beck, radio and television talk show host, ranked just under Winfrey, in the second spot. This is Beck’s first time being ranked in the Harris Poll. He ranked the best with Republicans and people over the age of 64.

The Harris Poll has been done annually since 1993.
